I graduated with a degree in Computer Science and was working retail when I found the listing
for Woofs ‘n Whiskers. It described an office environment where I could work with both animals
and people, which is exactly what I wanted. I started at the front desk, getting to know the
clients and their pets, before becoming the Front Desk Manager, and then the General Manager.

Being able to wake up excited to go to a job that you love is exactly what Woofs ‘n Whiskers
provides for me. I joined the Woofs team knowing very little about dogs and cats but was
motivated to learn anything and anything about all the different breeds. Working at Woofs has
taught me so much – I’ve learned a lot from the staff, and I’ve learned a lot from taking care of
our lovely cats and dogs every day.

H3N2)
Vaccines must be administered AT LEAST 48 hours prior to check-in. Upload a signed health certificate to your pet’s profile on the portal.

If fleas are found on your pet during a
stay, we will administer a dose of topical flea treatment or provide a medicated bath, at your expense.
Q: What are the requirements to attend doggie daycare?
+Dogs must be at least four months old, up-to-date on all vaccinations, parasite-free and pass our evaluation day of daycare. Dogs must also be spayed or neutered if they are over 12 months old.
Q: What if my dog is unaltered?
+Dogs over 12 months old must be spayed/neutered to attend doggie daycare or board with us.
Q: Does my dog need to come in for daycare before they spend the night?
+Yes, first-time boarders need to attend a daycare evaluation day before spending the night. We want to make sure we are able to provide a happy, healthy and safe space for your pup.
Q: Do I need an appointment for my dog’s first visit?
+- Yes, all meet ‘n greet daycare visits require a reservation.
- All reservations in Red Hook require a reservation.
- We are currently accepting walk-ins for current clients in Cobble Hill.
Q: What is the introduction/screening process for new dogs?
+Upon arrival, we will review your pup’s history, personality, and any known quirks. When it’s time to play, a Pet Care Tech will first introduce your dog to a few of our Woofs’ mascot dogs before gradually welcoming the rest of the group into the yard. We match each dog to a play group appropriate for their size, age, and temperament, and play begins only when both the dogs and our team are fully comfortable with the group dynamics.
Q: Do I need a reservation for daycare or boarding?
+Yes. We require reservations for all services, and we do book up quickly. Same-day services are available when possible, with a $25 same-day premium.
Q: Do you offer any discount programs?
+Yes! We do offer Membership deals on daycare and boarding, as well as discounted pricing for prepaid packages.
We also offer discount for multiple-pet households.
Q: If I purchase a Membership or prepaid package, is my pet guaranteed a spot at daycare?
+Guests with memberships or prepaid packages get priority when booking, and a reservation is still needed — spots aren’t guaranteed. To keep everyone safe and happy, we limit the number of dogs in our play groups each day, so scheduling in advance helps us create the best experience for all.
Q: Do holiday rates apply for boarding?
+Yes, for reservation and pricing purposes, the following are considered Holidays and the holiday premium is in effect:
- New Year’s Eve
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King Day

Q: Should I feed my dog before dropping them off?
+It is best to feed your dog at least one hour prior to dropping them off at Woofs ‘n
Whiskers. This is to prevent bloat, which has been suggested can be caused by playing
too quickly after eating. Please let us know whether your dog has been fed when they
arrive or are picked up by our van service.
Q: Are snacks allowed?
+Yes, you may bring a small meal or snack for your dog in a sealed container or baggie.
We do provide Old Mother Hubbard biscuits just before naptime and bedtime.
Q: What if my pet gets sick or injured while at Woofs ‘n Whiskers?
+In the unlikely event that your pet becomes sick or injured while at Woofs ‘n Whiskers, we are committed to providing prompt, attentive care tailored to their needs. If an illness or accident occurs, we will immediately attempt to contact you, your emergency contact, and your personal veterinarian. For urgent situations, we will take your pet to a veterinary emergency facility right away and keep you informed every step of the way.
Q: What does my dog or cat need for an overnight stay at your boarding facility?
+We take care of almost everything during your pet’s stay. We provide bedding, bowls, litter, and toys, so there’s very little you need to pack.
Bedding: We supply all bedding; there’s no need to bring your pet’s personal bed.
Food: If you choose to bring your pet’s food, please pack an ample supply. Many pets are sensitive to dietary changes, and consistency helps avoid upset stomachs. All food must be in an airtight container labeled with your pet’s name and feeding instructions. Individual pre-portioned baggies work especially well during holidays or busy seasons. Please include extra—just in case!
If you prefer not to supply food, we serve Fromm Gold Holistic Dry Dog Food and Fromm Adult Gold Dry Cat Food at no additional charge.
Bowls: We have plenty of stainless-steel bowls.
Treats: We offer Old Mother Hubbard biscuits at nap time and before tuck-in.
Restraints: All dogs must arrive on a proper leash; we will hold the leash for you during their stay. All cats must arrive in a secure carrier.
Toys: Please leave personal toys at home. We provide appropriate chew toys as needed.
Q: What about medications/supplements?
+- A trained Pet Care Technician is happy to give your pet any needed medications or supplements for a small fee of $3 per administration.
- Please update your pet’s profile through the Paw Partner portal and include the medication name, dosage, frequency, and purpose.
- All items must be in clearly labeled containers, ideally in the original bottle(s).
Q: Still feeling worried about leaving your loved one?
+Leaving your pet somewhere new can be tough, and we’re here to help. Your pet will receive lots of affection, people time, and playtime while they’re with us.
If Woofs ‘n Whiskers isn’t the right fit, we’ll be honest and let you know.
Check our portal and Instagram for daily photo updates—after 30 years, we’ve learned the stay is usually harder on you than on them!
